What's cooking?

1). Time for a more conventional loudspeaker design: a compact bookshelf speaker based on the Seas L16RNX-04 woofer. The bass-loading will use an 18cm passive radiator and the matching tweeter will be the Seas 27TBCD/GB-DXT.

2). Humble Homemade Hifi kits! Planned to be released this year: complete loudspeaker kits containing everything down to the last screw! Working on an ultra high-end design using Accuton ceramic midrange with multiple woofers + a Jantzen Audio diamond tweeter and an efficient 8 ohm MTM system featuring PHL midwoofers + Mundorf AMT tweeter.

18-02-2010 - Updated the Capacitor Test. Tested the Jupiter HT BeesWax, Epcos B32523-Q3475-K26 MKT, Epcos B32656-A6475-J MKP, Epcos B32774-D1505-K MKP, Cicada Pure Aluminium Foil and Cicada Pure Copper Foil capacitors. Also re-evaluated a few previous ratings here and there due to the ever widening listening platform.

15-02-2010 - Updated the Capacitor Test. Tested the AmpOhm aluminium foil capacitors with paper-in-wax, paper-in-oil and polyester-in-oil.

13-01-2010 - Updated the Sales Page. Added the Pipe-Line and Black Box loudspeakers.

04-01-2010 - New: PipeLine. A line-array transmission-line speaker using 16 miniture full-range drivers per side.

18-11-2009 - New: Black Box. A three way monitor speaker using a 10" woofer, 2" dome midrange and 1" dome tweeter.

27-10-2009 - Updated the Sales Page. Added my bass-rig and double-bass.

19-06-2009 - Updated the Capacitor Test. Tested the Jantzen Audio Silver Gold Z-Cap, WIMA MKS4 and Audience Auricap.

27-05-2009 - New: Andromeda Mk-II. It's been 9 years since the Andromeda appeared on the web. It has been long due for an update but now it is here: The Andromeda Mk-II. This version uses the Eton 12/680/62HEX woofer, Scanspeak 18W8545-00-SE midwoofer with double magnet and Focal Audio TLR tweeter. There is also a cheaper alternative that uses a 10-inch Seas woofer.

26-03-2009 - Updated the Sales Page. Lots of B&C and Ciare drivers and some 18-Sound horns for sale. Nearly all these items are brand new and still unpacked in their original boxes. I bought them for speaker projects to come, but I don't have any time anymore to realise these projects. So it's time to clear out my storage and make some space in my house!

11-09-2007 Major update of the Great Capacitor Test.

12-06-2007 Updated the Soup page. After a few years in the field it was time for a crossover revision.

06-04-2007 Updated the Bass-Rig page. Added a low-pass crossover to the subwoofer and altered the port tuning of the woofer.
