03-06-2013: The CAD-drawings for the Euridice loudspeakers are ready and the first set of panels will soon be cut to size on a large CNC-machine. I am currently also testing some more capacitors: the Jupiter Flat Stacked and Flat Stacked HT and the Ansar Super Sound Polypropylene.

10-04-2012: An updated CAD drawing of the Concertino loudspeaker can now be viewed at the download section of this website. The drawing now shows the 10 degree angle of the baffle.
18-02-2013: At the moment I am testing the new Mundorf MCap EVO, EVO-Oil and EVO Silver-Gold-Oil capacitors. The Vishay MKP1893HQ is also on the testbench.

31-07-2012: It has been quiet for a while on my website but not in my workshop! The Concerto MTM-loudspeakers have been playing for quite a few weeks now and the crossover design is nearly finished. The small Concertino bookshelf cabinets are ready to have their drivers fitted so that I can start on their crossovers. And I have decided to use Scanspeak's D3004-6640 Beryllium tweeter for the L' Orfeo follow-up (which I think I will simply call Orfeo). The new baltic birch plywood cabinets for these speakers are ready to be veneered. So lots to come in the near future.
12-06-2012: Besides the Concerto MTM loudspeaker that I am working on at the moment, I am also developing a smaller, more compact version called the Concertino. On our download page you will find the latest CAD-drawings of both loudspeakers including detailed drawings of their baffles. These CNC-milled baffles are now available from stock and can be ordered from our shop.
07-06-2012: Mundorf have discontinued their AMT2510c tweeter which has only been on the market for about a year or two. It has been replaced by the AMT25CM1.1 that has slightly different parameters - this means that I will have to re-design the crossover for the L' Orfeo or design a new speaker with a different tweeter. I am thinking about Scanspeak's D3004-6640 Beryllium tweeter.....
17-04-2012: The original cabinet for the Concerto loudspeaker has been discarded - not good enough! A new improved version has now been built with an internal Quadratic Residue Diffusor. The midrange sounds a lot cleaner now! The latest CAD drawing can be viewed at the download section of this website.

27-02-2012: Humble Homemade Hifi has recently moved to a new, larger facility. Optimizing the acoustics of our new development-room is taking longer than expected. This means that new DIY loudspeaker kits have been scheduled for a later date than originally intended. Please be patient!
05-12-2011: Updated the Capacitor Test with my evaluation of the Intertechnik Audyn Cap FFC alu-foil paper in oil, Intertechnik Audyn Cap Kp Sn tin-foil, Intertechnik Audyn Cap True Silver, Intertechnik Audyn True Copper Cap and the new Hovland SuperCap (Robert Hovland Series). I have been able to add another capacitor to my favourites list.
24-11-2011: Updated the Custom Design section of this website with a nice little custom built subwoofer.
03-11-2011: To make space I am selling my complete AmpOhm capacitor stock. All items are new and have never been used, but be quick becasue stock is limited. Please visit my shop to check the available types, sizes, voltage ratings and amounts available.

15-09-2011: I regret to have to inform you that some crossover components have also become more expensive over the last month. The consequence is a small increase in price of the L' Orfeo loudspeaker kit.
23-08-2011: The cost for the rare earth metal neodymium has risen by 1400% since 2008. On a very regular basis, I keep getting updated price-lists from suppliers of drivers that use nedymium. Due to this extreme price increase world wide, Scanspeak also has raised the price of their drivers that use neodymium magnets. Unfortunately this has had consequences for the L' Orfeo kit pricing.

18-07-2011: The L' Orfeo loudspeaker kit is now available from stock. The complete list of the kit components can be found at the download section of this website.
15-06-2011: Finished the article about the L' Orfeo loudspeaker. Added the measurements and listening results. This loudspeaker is now on demo and will be available from stock as a kit in a couple of weeks when the final components have arrived.
